All attempts to control the world can only lead to its decimation, and to our own demise: Lao Tzu - Tao Te Ching

Spanish Lake was first the home to the Native American tribe of Bayougoula, a part of the Choctaws. In 1699 the first European explorer, Sieur de Iberville, discovered Spanish Lake, and described it as “one of the prettiest spots I have seen…”

Today, for reasons discussed in this Web site, this valuable wetland struggles as a shallow stagnant lake, with little or no timber regeneration, declining water fowl, declining fisheries, declining wildlife, and declining water quality.

We invite you to view this Web site, learn more about the lake and the threats it faces. And then join in our efforts to reverse the tide of destruction.
